Hi there so i have just bought a Meta Quest 3 and plan on using the air link to stream my steam vr games to the headset. My router is connected to the modem downstairs and cannot be moved, i have an ethernet lead running upstairs into my pc, I also just bought an ASUS RT-AX53U router as i heard good reviews for those streaming their games due to it 4 antennas (my router has 1). I know that my upload/upload speed doesnt really matter when it comes to streaming my pc to my headset, its more about bandwidth. If i plug my new router into the ethernet lead, (and connet that router into my computer), would in theory my connection to streaming be better than if my router was donwstairs and i was upstairs? On my current router i have 2.4 and 5ghz seperated and only have my phone and work laptop connected to it, rest of my household uses 2.4.

Would i make my speed slower? Would this actually help? I am not a network wizz and know very little as it scares me, so any simple explanations would be fantastic. Thanks very much!

Just a note just incase it helps: my up/down is 500down 70up 70 up, 9 ms ping and my ethernet cable is linked here,

Should be fine, just make sure plug to LAN and not WAN port, set the Asus as Access Point. Set the same SSID and password.

So I should set the network names to be the same as my current routers? Or did you mean same names when I separate the bands
