How reliable is a 2020 440xi gran coupe? I have a good cpo offer (48k mi, so id have 12 month unlimited mile cpo coverage) with good options. The issue is, is its the same price as a new corolla/camry base model fwd. Coming from a e92 335xi 2011 and a 09 328i e90, i dont want to downgrade as i travel ALOT for work (30k mi a year atleast). I can afford the cost of the payments, i just dont want to be buying a lemon of a car. I know the zf 8 is rock solid, so is the b58 (outside of normal bmw gaskets/hose issues). Will the rest of the car deteriorate within 3 years? Thanks.

I have a 2019 440i gran coupe, owned for about a year now. The B58 engine is pretty much regarded as BMWs most reliable engine in many years, maybe ever.

It has forged internals and can withstand significantly more HP and torque than the factory has it tuned to. Take care of basic maintenance and you should be completely fine with that engine. Only issue I’ve had is I had to replace my PCV diaphragm, which was about 25 dollars and 20 minutes of work, and it likely only failed on me because I have an engine tune.
