PSA, check pricing before charging. I guess I won’t make that mistake again… I mistakenly picked the first DC Fast charger near me on this road trip. Has this happened to anyone else before?

DCFC’s really need a display standard like gas pumps. Price per kWh displayed prominently in a large 72 point font and a secondary 60 point that shows the total cost as it is being delivered so you can stop at any time during the process(if you need to). In addition, it needs to be a cash or credit no-app-bullshit interface. I hope the IRA has some influence on this. Thanks for posting this, OP, as it really is a valuable message.
Could not agree with this more. I was given an EV as my last rental and I spent more charging it than I would have spent if I had gotten a Toyota Corolla. It’s a very frustrating experience when you are in an unfamiliar place and the charging stations have little to no pricing transparency. It’s very difficult to figure out how much it’s going to cost to charge the car whereas with a gas car you can easily figure out how much a tank is.
