Looking for those games that you may have heard about but never tried until you got a Deck. Or old games on systems you never had that you’re trying for the first time. Or new AAA games that just released in the last year or two that you picked up for the first time specifically to play on Steam Deck and have kept you glued to the device.
I’m trying to reinvigorate my old, nostalgic love of gaming and hoping to find the perfect Steam Deck + addicting game combo.
Dredge, Dave the Diver, Dome Keeper, Cult of the Lamb, Death’s Door & Vampire Survivors have been amazing on the Deck!
Dave the diver has been my wind-down game every night. It’s so peaceful, cute, silly, and self-aware. I adore Dave the Diver. I love tending to my crops, fishery, going deep sea diving, and having a restaurant manager. It’s so well put together.
Vampire survivors is top notch as well
I absolutely loved Cult of the Lamb. Recently I’ve put it down though since I’ve >!“beat” the game and am now at the point where you have to beat it again to get the tears!<
I maxed out my cult trees. And the cult management was actually the more addictive part to me. Often times I’d decide to do a run because I needed resources for my cult. I still dumped like 30 hours or so into it probably, which is a lot for me. Definitely got my money our of it, but I don’t know if I will continue past where I am.
Though, it stays on my steamdeck because if I have the itch to play a rouge-lite “whatever genre that type of combat is”, it’s there. Also I can’t abandon my cult. I love those little guys and gals.
Also also, I just need to shout out the sound design and music. Phenomenal. I love the “voices” of all the characters you meet. And many of the quotes are pretty awesome.
This is a good list. A damn good list
Dome Keeper late at night lying on my bed is an awesome cozy experience. The music is great for some laid back mood and digging.
Dredge is soo good, one of the most atmospheric games I’ve ever played. Love that Lovecraft vibe. Just wish the game was longer
