Some guy at my work said he is a Man City supporter. Total glory supporter. But I can see how the treble will bring in more revenue.

technically they’re also investing this profit back into the club by using it for their lawyers’ retainers

I still think the primary intent of these fuel states when they buy clubs is actually to just make money and diversify their assets a bit, the sportswashing thing is really overblown in my opinion.

If cleaning their image was all they cared about they’d be buying the biggest clubs in the world and not buying ‘cheap’ clubs like Man City and Newcastle and turning them into profitable machines (too early to say with Newcastle but that’s the route they’re heading at the moment)

Their main intent was to get in on the property market in the UK. They used their purchase of Man City as an in to start buying up loads of land in Manchester on the cheap to develop. It’s also why Neville is such a big fan of them, because they fund some of his projects.

In 5 to 10 years you’ll see Newcastle have loads of new buildings built by the Saudi’s.

They do not care about their image lmao they have outright said that they don’t and it’s a business and hobby interest.

It’s an asset to them not some sort of imaginary vehicle for a perception they’ve said is meaningless to them.

Let’s say this profit is legit, and to be fair I do think it is, it will all still be scandalous because, if proven, they cheated to get any success they now have. They purchased a multitude of players in the run up to their consistency. So I don’t listen to any claims about their spending in the 2 or 3 years because the suspected cheating happened all the years prior. I’ll wait for the final verdict but until then it’s all asterix for me. Before anyone freaks out this is only my opinion.

Absolutely laughable . Seriously though, for the sake of the league , City need to be punished for what they’ve done . Severely

The cheek of it, it’s honestly pathetic on the premier leagues part letting them get away with it.
