    It’s weird how Liverpool had 110million to spend but didn’t buy a DM, imagine them with someone like Rice.

    It’s also weird how we wasted 65m on Kai Havertz who’s only good performances have been doing Fellaini impersonations, imagine us with Szbosolai instead.

    Both teams are 1 point below City currently but it feels like if either us or them had addressed those positions properly either could be walking the league.

      Liverpool did get a DM, it just didn’t end up being a high-profile one, but they went all out for Caicedo and should have got him. With Rice they would’ve known he was Arsenal bound, and not many other options out there worth splurging on.

      Havertz was very much an “on paper” or “in theory” signing. He has a lot of desirable features, and on form (which we haven’t really seen since the Bundesliga) he would be the perfect left 8 in our system to complete the midfield/attack.

      Of course, actually watching him with your eyes, he hasn’t been that player in over 3 years. So it was always going to be a risk, hence why Bayern or Madrid were interested but only for about half-price or on a loan.

      They almost bought Caicedo before the deal got hijacked by Chelsea. He was supposed to be that last part of their midfield rebuild. Then their plan B guy Lavia also got hijacked by Chelsea.

      When you consider that Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern and Man City all had the means to sign this guy, and yet he chose Arsenal, it makes you feel even better about the signing.

      Kai is better than Sobozlai in terms of winning possession back in the opponents third, Liverpool matches look like basketball games and we generally dont allow that bullshit and players like Kai make that happen unfortunately for the eye test.
