I truly don’t care nor want cellular on my watch. I always have my phone with me. I also don’t care to spend an extra $10 plus a month for it as well. I’ve tried looking it up but have had no luck in finding the information. Any insight would be appreciated.

Ultras all have cellular, but you are not obliged to use it. I was going to ignore it until I learned that TM has a $5/mo option. I figured that for five bucks it’s worth the extra security

The actual answer to your question is no. You cannot purchase an AWU without cellular. You do not, however, need to activate it.

Every ultra is cellular capable, activation of the cellular capability isn’t required.

I don’t have a need so I run my ultra without cellular attachment - it is therefore GPS only.

People told you what you needed to know but I’ll add this: the right plan with the right carrier will make cellular either free or $5 a month.

I’m on Verizon and my watch cellular plan is free.

I ordered an Ultra but I have no phone plan. All Ultras come with cellular capacity but no obligation or usability requirement that it be activated. It works just fine on wifi or thru my iPhone.

Isn’t the whole point of the Ultra for hikers and such who would want cellular coverage on their watch? What’s wrong with the 9?
