Correct. People on this sub must inspect their brakes every month. Most people do it once a year. These probably don’t last another year under city driving (highway might) and I’d just replace em to save myself the hassle of having to do it unscheduled 6 months from now.
When the pad material is same size as backing plate that’s when you want to replace.
This is replace time but not dangerously so.
