I’ve always wondered about the motivation behind folks who willingly navigate through the holiday hustle, dealing with traffic and airport chaos, just to pick someone up.

    when talking about north America here its because there is basically no alternative as public transport is virtually none existent in most of the US.

    so you either pick them up or they spend a ton of money for a taxi.

    in Europe this is a less common thing as airports are usually very well connected to public transport systems.

    i can reach 3 different international airports in just over an hour using public transport, in the US people can be happy to reach one at all without using a car.
