I still remember the lofted pass to Rvp like yesterday.
Everyone talks about his brilliant assists to RVP and deservedly so. But his most memorable assist for me was the one for Henry in the cup game against Leeds. That moment was all about Henry ofcourse but Song was at the top of his game and as soon as I’d seen him on the ball with Henry in that position RVP would usually occupy, I knew we were in for a dream goal. :)
Those Hollywood balls to RVP were unreal.
I still think about that goal at Liverpool… Maybe my favorite goal that RVP scored.
Van Persie’s goal against Everton is out of this world. Will never forget watching that on TV. Song’s lofted ball and the awkward angle that Van Persie was able to hit it at.

Underappreciated at Arsenal imo, this guy. Had one absolutely marvellous season before his transfer to Barcelona.
His passing over the top to RVP was always dangerous
I was quite a fan of Song. Them balls to Van Persie at times were epic
Unpopular opinion but we definitely missed Song more than RVP in the following seasons. We replaced RVPs goals across the team, but nobody could anchor the midfield like Song did until Coquelin matured (and even then he relied heavily on Santi).
I remember when he left, I was thinking, “I’m sure Frimpong can come in to replace him” because he’d been doing great in the youth squad and played well in a pre-season friendly. How very, very wrong I was.
Not true, song was great and important but RVP in those 2 last years dragged us into a decent team, he was simply the best striker in the world… “unpopular opinion” doesn’t mean it’s true
Defensive errors aside he was one of my favorite players his last two seasons. Everyone remembers when he and RVP had their magical connection but the year before he and Wilshere were wonderful together and he even scored 5 goals all of which were important if I remember correctly. Also he had always been a good passer, he assisted Eduardo’s famous beach goal too
