Not to set a record or to race, what’s your dream setup? And what soundtrack do you drive to?
I’d probably end up in a camper listening to Jerry Reed, but wishing I was in a Holden VL Walkinshaw. Each to their own. Tell me.

Long trips in a convertible really suck. You would think they’re fun until you actually try it.
There’s definitely a huge difference between a NA Miata and a LC 500 convertible. My ears would be ringing by the end of a 2 hour drive with my Miata. This wasn’t the case even for Mustang convertibles I’ve rented, and I could barely hear anything but the engine in a LC500 convertible I drove at a Lexus event.
A NA Miata is pretty much as barebones of a convertible as you can get lol. Modern convertibles are on a different level in noise insulation and comfort.
Disagree, did a week-long 2200 mile trip in a 718 Boxster. Comfortable and tolerable noise level. Hauled all the luggage for two people.
Depends on the convertible lol. LC500 is quiet and comfortable.
Your Boxster would also work. Did a 2200 mile trip to Rennsport this year in my 718.
Made a cross country move from San Diego to Orlando in my NA Miata. It was far from stock also. Stiff Koni suspension, Greddy turbo, ect. Took out the passenger seat and sold it make room for luggage😃 But it was one of the most fun I had road tripping. Told myself I would only drive 8-10hours and whatever the nearest town I would stop, get a room, and explore local cusines (I’m a chef). Took me about 8 days. I did this in October so the weather wasn’t extreme either way.
I’ve been planning a trip like this for years, only I’ll be leaving from Riverside and ending up in NYC. Hopefully I’ll be taking my NA on that trip next summer 🤞🤞🤞
