Are we witnessing Arteta’s final form? We’re kind of dour but tactically unorthodox and extremely well-drilled.
Reluctant to compare us to a team that got a lot of success. But purely in terms of style, there are comparisons to be made with Vicente del Bosque’s Spain IMO, especially in how we take the game to the parts of the pitch we want, and let it die there.
Feels like more of an overcorrection of the failures of last season than a final form.
Not final form yet - not without a fully fit XI playing together at least once having had some attacking cohesion.
If we could channel last year’s attacking speed with this year’s defensive solidity, it’s actually game over - not for only England, but all of Europe.
