Hi everyone!

My fiance and I recently bought a house, and I’m looking to improve our current home network. Currently, we have the modem/router on the first floor, so the signal on the second/third floor is weak.

I’ve explored the idea of a mesh network system however it seems like they are capped off at (3) units and have limited port availability for other hardwired devices. I would like to have (4) units with ability to hardwired multiple devices per section. I also want to note that 90% of our lighting are alexa enabled smart lights that are on a 2G network. Our current internet speed is around 1000mbps wired.

Does anyone have recommendations on what I can do? I want something that is seamless installation with minimal configuring, however I’m up for a challenge if needed.

Ubiquiti UniFi or TP-Link Omada - both prosumer, a step up from consumer stuff and especially mesh. Both are centrally managed, multiple APs and switches are a breeze. If you’re setting up VLANs later you will appreciate the control. Seriously, if you’re wiring, no need for mesh stuff.
