Hiya folks - many footballers have written/released books, any of them any good? Wanted to get y’all’s opinion; not looking for anything specific in the book. But, anything with good stories, anecdotes, etc would be more interesting to me. Thanks
“I am the Secret Footballer” is an interesting book. Different that the usual biographies.
Tim Howard released one after the ‘16 World Cup. That book is what got me into Everton
Not sure if he has written a book, but Nigel Pearson is a mad bastard. Broke the jaw of a wolf after getting cornered whilst hiking in Romania.
I’m a Man United fan so it’s a bit United heavy but here’s the ones I’ve read.
My favourite ones: Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Kieron Dyer
Average ones you can maybe try: Jamie Vardy, Peter Crouch, Andrea Pirlo
Crap ones: Carlo Ancelotti, Andrew Cole
Terrible ones: Paul Scholes (it’s basically a photo book with him commenting on the pictures)
I currently have Wenger, Carrick and Evras books on my shelf to read next.
Goodfella Craig Bellamy, his upbringing in Wales was rough.
Awesome, Thanks! His upbringing might explain his behaviors on/off the pitch as a footballer
James Milner one is awesome. All three books about Zlatan are really great ones. Biography of Peter Crouch is extremely funny to read with his sense of humor and self-deprecating comments :)
Please stop saying “y’alls” This isn’t the deep South of the USA
It is where I am 🤷
