I got this thing as a solution to multiple ethernet cables coming into my room.
The problem? It cuts out. ALOT

So I have the main ethernet that comes from downstairs (CAT6 15M) plugged into the 5th port.

Then I have a linux machine and a windows machine connected respectively in ports 1 and 2.

The windows machine keeps loosing connection, adapter settings state that the network cable is unplugged. Every review I’ve seen online for this switch says it works perfectly for 4 devices, why am I having so many issues?

Not sure how else to say it other than just saying it connects, stays connected for maybe 1-2 minutes, then disconnects.

Both machines are fine if only 1 of them are plugged in at a time, defeating the purpose of the switch.

Any ideas or tips that don’t involve buying a new switch (I could just get another cable) would be great.
If you own a MS105G then even better, tell me what you did different lol.

Try moving the cable from port 5 to port 4. If this works, it’s magic.

My reasoning or a really big SWAG, from the pictures, it looks like port 5 might be on a different/singular PHY. The first four ports might be on quad PHY.

It really sounds like a defective switch or a defective power supply, however.
