Højlund I think is unfair, he’s a good player but United just don’t give him the service he needs. Yes he was too expensive, but he’s not a flop like the others.
Mark Draper is one of my favourite Villa players of all time. Granted, I was only 11 when he signed for us, so my rating could be skewed. His transfer wasn’t crazy money at the time was it?
Back in the 90s Seth Johnson and Mark Draper went for big money, it would be equivalent to paying &75mil for someone like Sambi Lakonga today.
Solanke for £20mil before getting a game or goal for Liverpool seemed, and was crazy.
£30m plus for Iwobi to Everton seemed steep but he got better.
Man utd are the kings though £85m for Antony, £80m for Sancho £75m for Hooijland? Barely any goals btween them.
Solanke wasn’t crazy, a young English striker you can always pretty much make the money back and he did have a great youth career
He’s served Bournemouth pretty well, I’d imagine they don’t regret that transfer at all.
They’d certainly get more than 20m now with the home grown buff.
Definitely. They’d be asking for £35mil minimum if someone went for him, IMO.
FWIW Solanke did have appearances for Liverpool, he played 27 games, and scored 1 goal (in a meaningless game IIRC).
Not meaningless, pretty sure it was last game of the season where we needed to win against Brighton to secure top 4 (although I may be wrong)
Don’t forget 70m for Maguire and he has fucked up more than he did Man U a favor.

He passes the eye test for sure. He might not reach his potential at Man U but the kid has loads of talent.
Seth Johnson was class before the injuries. My first choice CM3 signing too.
