I’ve been thinking about this, and how we’re described in .world as a seething cauldron of toxicity and hate, makes me think about the parallels between this and how liberals in the past would describe a new socialist country, or an indigenous resistance before that. Just a combination of telephone game, projection/hermeneutics of suspicion, and crucially “I only encounter these people when I am fighting them but I assume that must be their vibe all the time.”

OK so I’m very bad at actual politics. Now what do I do? Do I call state reps and tell them I demand prison for the orange pedo and banning of all data centers , and a massive wealth tax, medicare for all? That seems a little on the nose. But its what I actually care about. I don’t feel like they’ll listen to me.

Democrats and Republicans are the same only to the immensely privileged and immensely stupid.

Someone who says that is in fact privileged. ICE received a lot of its power during Obama’s terms. Biden deported more than Trump in his 1st term and the GENOCIDE in Palestine was escalated severely under Biden, who would even bypass congress to force more funding for “Israel”.

And now Democrats are throwing trans people under the bus, being very open about their transphobia and fucking liberals like you act all smug and condescending.

We don’t yet have data on how many eligable voters voted in 2026, but in 2024 only around 57% of Mississippians voted who could. Midterms nearly always have lower turnout, the percentages were in the mid-30s. You do not speak for all black women, stop acting like you do. Again, both parties are incredibly unpopular. The Democrats do not represent workers. The votes were against the Republicans, not for Democrats, in the majority of cases.

It’s still a party dominated by capitalists in a state that can never be reformed into socialism, ever. This is the basic problem, even if the Democrats were hardcore Marxists they still couldn’t implement socialism even if they wanted to. That requires completely replacing the state, which is beyond the ability of those that take office, and requires armed struggle to take the commanding heights of the economy outside the scope of the state.

I’m very optimistic for the future, I just know that the Democrats are not on my side.

I personally root for anyone who measurably improves the lives of hundreds of millions of people, and/or the least evil/most good option.

I think electing progressives will have a more measurable positive impact on the lives of hundreds of millions of real people, compared to imagination. Some pie today is better than pie in the sky, way up high!

This is why I asked you if you think capitalism necessarily makes conditions worse over time, or if that trend can be reversed. In my view, capitalism, even managed by progressives, will continue to result in wealth concentration and increased disparity. Even if progressive social programs are passed, such as an expansion to medicare, capital will continue to concentrate in fewer and fewer hands, and the crisis of profitability will continue to loom for the next inevitable bust. Every bust concentrates capital even more, and casts even more workers into generational poverty.

This is why I cannot see progressives as improving things. They slow the descent at most, they do not reverse the trend, and therefore we must commit to the revolutionary path. Also, if improving the lives of hundreds of millions is something you support, then I’d figure you would be the CPC’s strongest warrior. They eliminated absolute poverty for 800 million people.

You did not answer my question. Let me ask in the form of metaphor, that might help. Do you believe capitalism is a sinking ship, where progressives can only patch holes to slow it sinking, or do you believe capitalism is a ship that is off-course, and that progressives can steer it towards the right direction? Which is it? I believe the former, but it’s unclear if you believe the latter.

As for China, it’s a democratic country run by popular councils that ladder upwards. For how this works in detail, as well as an overview of how socialist democracy has evolved over time and the reasons why, I recommend Socialism in Power: On the History and Theory of Socialist Governance by professor Roland Boer. Who is it that China is mass-murdering, by the way?

I’m genuinely trying to come to an understanding with your thought process. I don’t think we will agree, but I think we can find common ground.

That is hard to predict if a democratic president will be better, other than a sense of national normality. There are some weird national changes I do not understand; and future democratic governments may decide to ignore or even embrace.

The Trump years did not occur out of a vacuum. There are very real forces that are shaping a collapse of the federal government, beyond who is in the white house

I’ll let the reformists do the reforming. And I’ll be there every step of the way to point out when those reforms don’t work.

That is my job. The reformists only want to manage the symptoms. Or at least pretend that they want to manage the symptoms because they will come up with bureaucratic excuses to take away those reforms and to not let you have them in the first place.

Are you actually bragging about having nothing useful to contribute to society?

“I can’t do anything except criticize the people doing the actual work” isn’t the flex you seem to think it is.

What about all the “silly vulnerable people” that do not vote, and what about the “silly vulnerable people” that prefer revolution over reformism as a strategy?
