I’ll believe it when it pops. I’ve been seeing these headlines for years at this point. It’s like the rain dance worked because you danced until it rained.

Let’s not forget that for some odd reasons, people seem to keep finding fresh money to chuck straight into the fiery pits of the slop machines. If this had been any other industry, literally any other, that bubble would have burst so hard people would have found their heads popping out of their arses.

It’s more like someone saying, for years, that the local dam is going to burst.

If it never does, I guess they were full of shit. If it does, though, they might have been on to something.

There were similar headlines for years before the 2008 thing, too. That’s the thing with bubbles - the signs are there forever. Good management and aggressive regulation could probably eliminate or buffer them, but everyone just keeps playing musical chairs because they can make tons of money right up until it all implodes. And there isn’t a clear sign of actual collapse until the pieces are on the floor.

Am I the only one who sees even those projected figures as dramatically underwhelming given the amount of money investors are pumping into this shit?

At this point, I only believe Ed Zitron’s numbers anymore. No one else for example thought Oracle would suffer, but it does.
