“In an interview with Fox News that aired Wednesday evening, Bezos told host Bret Baier he believes AI’s productivity gains could let some people decide, “I can support my family by working three days a week. He claimed families in two-earner households could decide they don’t need a second income and let one worker drop out. The billionaire didn’t offer any specifics on how this could happen.”

Wow. That is some epic Marie-Antoinette level trolling. Though in fairness to Marie-Antoinette, she never actually said ‘let them eat cake’; that slur had been used on others decades before her time as French Queen.

Talk about vibe-coding economics. Big Tech takes control of the US government, and then leads people to a glorious AI future, but can’t “offer any specifics on how this could happen.” No shit. Perhaps it’s because you’re simultaneously telling investors you’ll be worth trillions because of all the human jobs you’ll absorb.

AI Could Allow For 3-Day Workweeks And Single-Income Households, Bezos Claims

This is the new American Dream bullshit they are trying to shovel down our throats when they realized we finally woke up and stop believing in it.

What they really want since the beginning of our country is slave labor.

This seems like the most natural inevitably. It will get to a point where their security details can basically extort whatever they want out of them. Sure they could try and hire another security detail… But what makes you think the current security detail will let that happen?

At a certain point they’ll have the keys to the castle, and know all the secrets, at that point, they don’t need the client. It’s just an extra pain in the ass

I saw a short news blurb about a guy who made a billionaire bunker consulting business, and apparently controlling workers/security was top of mind for the bunker rats.

I remember one of the recommendations from the consultant was to house the security guys’ families in a separate location. Dark shit

Ya I remember reading the same article. Stuff like biometrics and AI so if the billionaire stops checking in, atmos department stops working and stuff like that. If we are talking about it, they already have three separate solutions for it.

once you start you cant stop and you have to be able to make decisive impact before they get their shit together properly. And anyone doing anything would have to sacrifice everything they have since this wouldnt be tied up for long time if ever.

Only way to do it even a little safely would be if tons of other people rise up too. If they kill singular person or group it will just increase their control as rest will fear even more. If they start killing everyone then it will reduce their control as people will see that if they submit they will die. This is also why apathy and hopelessness is one of the strongest chains they have on our necks.

You hope but it won’t happen. Their bunkers are super hidden with multiple entrances and will mostly have automated defense. Who ever is able to turn on them from the inside won’t have access to the food storage and important stuff, they will basically be hostages.

I read an article about them flying out experts and paying them ridiculous amounts of money just to plan for these eventuality. I can’t imagine how many millions they dump into failsafes. They need to die before things get bad enough, once they are in the bunker and the outside world is broken, they win.

Only hope is a foreign power like China coming in and mopping up with bunker busters.

Technology has never reduced working hours: why pay the overhead on two people working 20 hours, when you could just have one work 40? The only thing that’s ever reduced the work week is union action.

So which is it Jeff? Will the supposed wealth from AI go to business owners or to workers? Because right now it’s being sold as a cheap replacement for human labor, not as a way for workers to work less. You can’t have it both ways.

Quit reading his meaning with a positive twist. He’s telling you now that your hours are going to be cut and your S O can’t find a job. Only one person is working and it’s part time.

Literally nothing material is stopping us from that right now. We already had single income families and have made huge efficiency gains since then.

And those gains went to the capital class. Both directly, through wage theft, and through cost inflation, and through lower taxes on the rich that allowed them to hoard more of their wealth. It would be very material to fix any one of these problems. But outside of a revolution, or a mass mobilization towards unions, I don’t see a clear path to achieving any of these at a systemic level.

It will never because they already know what a bunch of bored unoccupied people will do even when they live in good times. Which is go online and get fed propaganda and burn the whole fucking thing down looking for lizard people In minority spaces while those minorities help them do it. They’ll do this without the internet but at least it’s kept to small areas.

Shit look at retired people fucking up everything because they have too much time.

I know how this will sound but there it is.
