Late last night (October 4), Instagram user @amandalunt posted a lengthy statement detailing her decade-long relationship with Marvelous 3 frontman Butch Walker, beginning when she was fifteen and he was over double her age. Allegedly, their entanglement began when he invited her to a local Atlanta radio station and then began groping her inner thighs.
Lunt, currently a production assistant, then spent over ten years unable to escape Walker’s orbit, despite the musician being in a committed marriage. They had unprotected sex for years, and he expected her to carry the burden of his emotional weight. It was only when she met her husband in 2015 that she realized what she and Walker had was not love.
In addition to her written statement, Lunt’s post also included numerous screenshots of messages and emails with Walker. In one, a user by the name of “billthepug” (presumably Walker) says, “i have always had a crush on you.” “xyouarecrimex” (presumably Lunt) replies and says “since i was 15 hm? haha” and billthepug responds in the affirmative. The following screenshots show billthepug sexually pursuing xyouarecrimex (“just get it over with and be with me one night. i promise you will have fun”), despite evident reservations from the latter (“mm… i don’t know… aren’t you married now darlin? i don’t want to be a homewrecker, necessarily”). Eventually, she acquiesces: “i’ll see you. but i’m not going to guarantee anything…” His reply: “im not trying to rape you or anything. if i could just kiss you, i would be happy. i just want to feel your lips.”
In another screenshot of a series of messages, this time dated September 22, 2004, billthepug declares “i still need to conquer you, you know” and “you owe me a night of me owning your body.”
The next slide showcases a series of emails from four years later, in November of 2008. Lunt emails Walker, angry about his mistreatment of her and his apparent lumping her “into the group of mindless band sluts – the girls that couldn’t matter less.” Walker reassures her this is not the case.
Then, in 2012, Walker emails Lunt to make sure she was not pregnant: he says she was “insistent on using protection,” but “there was like a split second of no protection.” (Removing a condom during sex without the consent of one’s partner, “stealthing,” is legally definable as rape.)
Lunt’s post additionally includes five photos of her and Walker together.
