I’m not sure “percentage of fictional stories in which climate change plays a major role” is a very important metric.
…but the new yorker is owned by billionaires , right? …billionaires who probably have vested interest in the manufacture and selling of different greenhouse gases for refrigerant or other industrial purposes(like sulfur hexapluoride) or on the extraction, manufacture , and selling of different fossil fuels and their derivatives…so if someone is using a newspaper like the new yorker for their advice on climate change it is actually THEY the reader who have lost the plot.
You have to always always alwaus think about ehat sources youre gaining ‘information’ from cause that source may have extreme biases created by the ulterior motives of the informant. You may just be getting your hands on some misinformation or on useless information that the informant wants to lead you to a form of analysis paralysis
“Of the 474 stories, they found that just 10% referenced the climate crisis — and hardly any of the stories were actually about global warming. In nine of out 10 years, climate played a central role in no more than 2% of stories.”
