It is fair to say that Arsenal were handed a thrashing tonight by West Ham as they lost 3-1 to the home team to get knocked out of the League Cup.

However, the team was far from the best starting eleven.

Especially with a high intensity match awaiting on Saturday, just 3 days away, Arteta’s choice of players was understandable.

It’s as simple as that.

No team ever plays a match to lose but I doubt Arteta will ponder much about tonight’s loss.

Pretty sure that they’ll dust up and focus on PL action.

“Concentrating on the League” is a reasonable excuse if you’re 4 points above the relegation zone, having lost 9 out of the last 10. Anyone else, it’s bollocks.
