I’ve been building Lorehaven, a fanfiction archive and community platform, and I wanted to share what makes it different from the existing options.
The short version
Lorehaven is a self-hosted fanfiction platform designed to make writing for an audience sustainable through a positivity-first feedback culture, community self-governance, and open federation with the rest of the fediverse.

On a personal level, hearing “gamification” and “recommendation engine” wrt fanfiction sounds like everything I actively and vehemently do not want from a fanfiction platform.
On a more objective level, seeing “monetization” anywhere near fanfiction is asking for legal trouble.
Also I get what you’re trying to say with the whole “positive comments only” but what’s actually coming across is [valley girl voice] “our writing is perfect here and if you give any constructive criticism, we will construe it as a personal attack on us and call you a **** and *******”[/valley girl]
So glad you’re showing me the path where your code is stored, and the name and username to access the postgresql database. As a user, this does me no good at all. As an attacker, this is the first step I need to hack into the system.
Sounds dreadful. Like making fanfiction a job. And you’re going to let an AI decide if a comment is wholesome enough? Nah.
