one of the local prisons had an adopt a cat program for a while. i don’t know if they still do but i hope so (prison programs often end as soon as the person sponsoring them leaves) because damn, being adopted by cats would (and did) help a lot of people heal.
I sometimes get pulled over by a friendly cat while I’m out for a run.
“Gotta keep going, gotta… Oh, hello friend!”
“Do you know how slow you were going?”
“Man about to get arrested makes it to his cat for one last embrace!”
Fixed it.
No jury will convict him
Delayed gratification issues. Maybe that’s a recurring theme in his life?
