If you want to hear a crazy story I used to get government health insurance for like $30 a month. Never wound up using it but it was good to have. Then Trump does some fucking idiot God damn bullshit and then they tell me oh hey your new premium is $400 a month and I said nope and I canceled it and now if something bad happens I will simply die.

My parents had to move away to somewhere more affordable to make ends meet because their health insurance was running them $2000 a month due to this piece of shit :(

Nah, Hakeem Jeffries has already said No to Universal Health Care, so we can’t have it.

He expects to remain Speaker when the Dems take over after the Midterm Bloodbath, because he’s done such a great job during the Biden era, making sure MAGA didn’t regain momentum, and take over again. He’s proven that he deserves a second chance to fuck it all up for good this time.

We’d be working 12 hour days 7 days a week, being paid in company scrip.

There was a lot of violence in the 19th and early 20th century just to get the scraps we have now. Capital is your enemy.

Our grandfathers and great grandfathers fought company goons in hand to hand combat in the streets, to force corporations to accept Unions, which brought us EVERY workplace benefit, and EVERY health/safety/environmental regulation, that we enjoy today. Corporations have never given up a single benefit without a fight.

We need to go back to that, and unionize EVERYTHING.

For sure. But having your health insurance tied to your employer is one of the things that are fundamentally wrong with the US.

Exactly this. It started in WWII during a period of stabilized wages (i.e. federally enforced upper limits on wages to make things more fair for companies seeking labour) as a way of offering benefits to attract employees, but it would of course be cheaper for everyone if we switched over to universal healthcare. And actually cover everyone instead of leaving millions to die.

Isn’t the insurer the one who defines the copay?

There were (maybe still are?) cost share reductions for some people. Maybe it’s something to do with that?

“Tell me what you do, not what you will do.” -Epictetus

All of these democrats like him and AOC don’t even tell you what they will do. They wax on about what everyone else should do. Fucking losers.

Obama called it a genocide and introduced bills to defund Israel? Since when?

I see no other reason you’d claim he’s some kind of shill for Israel given he’s been very vocal about human rights abuses in Palestine

I literally addressed this in the comment I linked, but I guess you’re too afraid to learn more about how terrible and disgusting your loser socdem hero is.

When did he call it a fucking genocide? Was it not after 2 years of that fucking genocide? Was it not at a time when public opinion of Israel was so in the toilet that Piers Morgan went pro-Palestine? Was it not after the most brutal phase of the genocide where Israel bombed every school and hospital in Gaza which Bernie Sanders himself specifically cheered on and aided them in?

Has he taken back any of his condemnations of Hamas? Has he taken back any of his condemnations of October 7th? Has he ever stated that Israel has no right to exist?

This is exactly what I said. Sanders opposes Netanyahu but LOVES Israel. He’s a liberal zionist. Cope on.
