False advertising and manipulative advertising have become far too prevalent, why not see if criminalizing it will reduce it?
I’ll believe corporations are people when the state of Texas executes one.
Maybe not jail, isn’t that paid by taxpayer money? Instead I’d force them to deliver on their promises. Like when I was 12 and did a sloppy job on my homework. And my teachers and parents would all help me get my priorities right… I mean if they promise something, maybe introduce some government worker who nags them constantly, stops them from starting new projects/products until the old one is done to an acceptable level, looks them over the shoulder in a very annoying way until they behave… Does long, mandatory talks about consequences…
Government workers are also paid by taxpayer money…
Yeah but in the case the taxpayer dollars would be delivering a service, getting the advertisers to deliver on their promises
I believe that’s “the secret” to taxpayer money in general. People want some collective return of investment. If that dollar contributes towards infrastructure, education, service to people, everyone gets something in return, ideally something worth more than the money invested… Locking up people also does something. But it’s kinda super expensive and the only thing we get is those people not wandering the streets for some time. So not really any monetary return.
There is no need to jail anyone if you ban advertising ;)
exactly, but i think the corruption is far too deep
This is the opposite of an unpopular opinion but I am upvoting because I agree with you, as I am a free human being and can do what I want
