Hah, I just heard a very similar joke only 2 days ago:
“I recently adopted a dog that was previously owned by a blacksmith.
The first thing he did was make a bolt for the door.”
It’s a spaceship. It’s not as if he’s gonna run away!
He might sneak off and chew on some plasma conduits. Those things are always breaking in trek.
