I don’t understand how Partey is always injured. Is he over-exerting himself in training or while on international duty? Isn’t he supposed to be in tip top shape?

      Depends on who you ask.

I’d personally say most injuries are down to terrible luck. That Martinez injury and rushing him back vs Spurs screwed him.

Some will say he has terrible discipline. Then conspiracy theorists are playing the Essien card of a player suddenly becoming injury prone because they cheated age.

Probably the mechanics of his gait.

Steph curry pre-2014 had a shit ton of ankle injuries, he pretty much learned to walk and run again, hasn’t had a lower body injury since and has completely changed basketball forever.

Curry also had Under Armor design his shoes specifically so they gave him better ankle support and to work well with the ankle braces he wears literally every second he is on the court.

It also doesn’t hurt that Curry started really hitting the gym after 2014, and is now actually really strong for his size (his ability to make layups through contact in the lane is incredible).

As a Warriors fan, it’s been amazing to see the lengths Curry went to in order to maximize his ability to stay on the court and to maximize the impact he has while on the court.

A few months ago some guy I follow on twitter who works in sports said that in most cases the athletes that are injury prone are the same ones who don’t look after their bodies outside of their chosen sport, no idea if that’s true but it immediately made me think about Partey when I read it
