Do any fans other than man United fans like gary Neville yes he was a good player and can be quite funny but when it comes to being a pundit he just moans about everything unless man united are involved, just want to hear other opinions on him
Sell out
He’s a bit of a Bell end tbh, he has 2 thought processes for everything, blame the Glaziers and blame the Tories. Gets a bit tiresome after a while. Guy has no depth or nuance. (I don’t like the Tories either but GN would blame them and the Glaziers if he split tea on his trainers)
He’s ok unless he’s talking about Man U. Then he’s deluded.
But at least he calls out the Glazers.
He calls out the glazers just as much as every other United fan, as if it’s some armour that protects United from actual criticism.
It’s weak at best.
I actually don’t mind him outside of live TV.
I enjoy The Overlap tbh.
On a live broadcast, he has a tendency to go all in on an opinion on a 50/50 debate/call. Makes him look foolish.
I don’t hate the guy but wouldn’t rush to listen to him.
He’s alright, honestly couldn’t care either way if he moved away from TV or stayed.
Thing that annoys me most about him is his interviews are dogshit. He has a platform to ask the difficult questions to ex-players but clearly doesn’t want to upset people so sticks to asking who their favourite superhero is.
That interview David Ornstein and Adam Crafton did with Henderson was top notch journalism. They’re not afraid of pushing Hendo because they couldn’t give a fuck about his feelings or hurting their “friendship”
He seems an alright fella outside punditry. I think his experience as an ex player makes him feel like he needs to have a strong opinion on everything football related. He can be funny though Micah is probably some way ahead of him in that department.
As a Utd fan myself, I think a lot of his views on the club are echoed by many. I think that colours his punditry where Man Utd is concerned.
Overall, I think he ain’t bad but probably his takes can be LOL sometimes.
Like him on Overlap and like his passion for the game, but I don’t think he understands football as much as everyone thinks.
I love Gary. He’s got shit takes and is quite moany but that’s not news to United fans. Ferguson wrote in his post-retirement book that Gary isn’t happy unless he can be miserable about something.
Does anybody even listen to any of the pundits anymore. I watch and enjoy the matches or highlights but run through or mute the pundits .
He is an annoying rat
Without his CV as a player he’s simply a pub bore armchair manager.
Hes a prize winning plonker as a pundit and seeing his pain at poor united performances brings strong schadenfreude
Him and Carra is an unlikely friendship. He’s a clever man is our Gary. I hated him as a player but like him as a pundit and his politics.
Sky sports becomes the Gary and Jamie show sometimes, can feel sorry for the supporters of teams that are not Liverpool or man United when their teams game is on and that’s all they pretend to argue about.
