too cheap to even give us bread and circuses lol
- dave n busters doesnt even have a pool table, if youre not a ticket-kiddie, dont bother
- both national sports have been commodotized to extract every ounce of revenue, removing any actual enjoyment from the process
- a beer anywhere in public is >=9$. who the fuck can afford that?
- 30% of the country are zombie fascists and dont know it, and theres no way to actually talk to those people. i am out of patience.
- they just turned the only roller rink in 150 mile radius into a pickle ball thing for old assholes who pay more.
just off the top, im sure theres plenty of other anecdotes
Thanks for writing this out, its my experience as well. Take the recent world cup for example, price gouging at every step of the way. The local MLS games are a little cheaper but still every food/beer/drink/snack vendor in the stadium is charging >$10 for one item. Its just crazy. Even a local baseball team that is in the junior leagues is that much now. Sorry this ended up being a rant about sports but its the same across the board. Look at malls, they are being bulldozed in our area for apartments. So what do you do for fun that doesn’t cost $100…there are outdoor activities in parks and local sports facilities if your town is lucky to have them. I guess this is just me rambling about how expensive even the cheap and fun things used to be. Sigh.
Tried bowling lately?
really fucking expensive
And that’s only if you find an alley still operating that hasn’t been turned into a primarily bowling themed restaurant.
And here I thought it was just my local alley. Guess not.
My alley has a good deal. $20 for 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental included. Beer buckets are kind of expensive at 5 for $18 for miller lites
Nice! You are very lucky (assuming you like bowling).
I’m in the Midwest. Everything here is dirt cheap. But I do enjoy bowling. Not trying to derail that everything costs money to do anything now. Thank God it’s a real alley and not the restaurant themed alleys you were talking about in another post.
Having thought about this for a while; I think the decline of fun places is related to fewer people playing in the streets.
And is also related to less people going to bars, churches, strip joints and parks.
I’ve seen this decline for a long time. People visiting from Europe and Asia will often ask why nobody is outside. The streets empty of pedestrians of all ages.
The immiseration will continue until morale improves.
Well, people keep suing the fun places making it too expensive to operate.
lol fuck off
The blood suckers that own all the fun will always charge as much as possible and they will always cut costs as much as possible. If it was illegal to sue them, do you think they’d be more fun? Obviously not. So, why do you believe this stupid horseshit?
Well, i have seen people get sued because their kid got bumped in a go-kart…
a product of our shit medical system. medical bankruptcy or lawsuit?
