Concentration camps for foreigners and racial undesirables, political prisoners put away forever for thoughtcrimes, mass surveillance by the government, theocracy on the rise … never thought I’d see it, or any part of it, in my lifetime in the US.

The right likes to blame Obama for how they had to vote for the likes of Donvict. While they are often just trying to gaslight Democrats (they think), it turns out they are really telling on themselves.

Because Obama being President utterly broke their brains.

Especially given that he had TWO terms even after all their stupid bleating over him being “unvetted” and not showing his long form birth certificate. What made it even worse for them was that he was so capable after the 8 year debacle that was W.

All the stuff about his birth certificate or potentially being born abroad was totally irrelevant anyway since his mother was a citizen at the time of his birth. The constitution is very clear that citizenship is inherited at time of birth with no additional requirements or hoops to jump through. Literally the only exception for birth citizenship is if your parent is a visiting foreign dignitary. And even then, if one of your parents is a citizen, then so are you.

They will do no such thing. They will declare it’s “time to move on” and not prosecute Trump administration officials for their crimes or pardon those persecuted by the Trump regime.

They weren’t building those ‘detention centers’ for the immigrants. That’s a convenient cover until they’ve captured every lever of power. Within reach, or they’ll make it so before or when elections don’t go their way, if those still matter. Dissent is terror.

Right. Trump goes home from an insurrection he organized, it turns violent, and he gets the presidency. Autumn does something similar for a basic protest without an insurrection angle, and gets 50 years.

Yes, both sides. The one cannot exist without the other. We have all seen how hard the democratic party fights against any progressive candidate that wants to make real change. And when the dems are in control, they do nothing to protect us from the GOP. Even when it is favored by the majority of americans. They are enablers.

They’re not arguing that both do the samr thing. They are arguing that Side A and Side B do different things, and that the things Side A does gives the ability for Side B to do theirs. In other words Side B could never get this many points if Side A did not do theirs.

Dumb example of the opposite - if the whole of the Democratic party starts today campaigning on Meducare for All, No aid to Israel, Withdraw from Iran, impeach Trump and Co and throw them in jail, they’ll win both chambers and if they follow through, this fascist wave will be halted within months. By not doing that, they allow fascism to continue killing, maiming and jailing people. This is what Side A is doing. It’s not the same as B, but B cannot win without A.

No, you’re absolutely right. But liberal capitalism decays into fascism or turns to it when threatened. And when liberalism has no teeth to stand up, and actively persecutes leftists more than the rising fascists, it is inherently complicit.

I want to make it clear that I think saying libs ARE fascist or as bad is absolutely stupid. But they can absolutely take part in making it possible to seize power.

The democratic party is not liberalism. They pretend to be to get votes. But where is the law that protects the right to abortion, or gay marriage. They never bothered to pass one because that would slow down and maybe even stop the GOP from doing what it is doing. They know the power swings like a pendulum, so they knowingly leave the door open. As long as they have the GOP to campaign against, they don’t have to do anything substantial. Which of course would upset their corporate donors.

First that isn’t what I said. Liberalism does not equal the democratic party is what I said. Liberalism is it’s own thing. The democratic party is it’s own thing. The democrats give lip service to liberalism. But they don’t actuall accomplish much. And you know the democrats controlled the senate at the time of that bill you linked… interesting how they just can’t seem to overcome the same obstacles that the GOP overcomes. Almost like they just aren’t trying as hard because they don’t really want to pass such things.

I mean I am the one saying democrats are liberals and you contested that. If you’re not saying that then I don’t know what we’re arguing about.

The senate operates on a supermajority. If you paid attention you would know that most republican legislation has not passed the senate.

In response to my comments about how the democrates enable the GOP, you said “Fascism is not equally as bad as liberalism and you people will never convince me otherwise.” I took that to be saying the gop is fascism, and the democratic party is liberalsim. To which I have disagreed that the democratic party is liberalism, but instead pretends to be, yet just enables the gop to do it’s thing because they both serve the same masters.

Also, I am aware of the supermajority and the filibuster. Those details are the same for both parties. Yet the gop manages to pass more legislation that supports their cause then the democrats. And yes, most legislation doesn’t pass in general. That’s because it is often just for publicity with no intent of it passing.
