There were 7 English Players in the squad against Sheffield United on Sat.
5 starting and 2 in the subs.
When is the last time there were 7 or more English Players in the squad in a league game?
I can only back to the early Wenger years.

It’s commendable we are using home grown talent and bringing through academy players but I don’t give a toss what nationality they are for as long as they’re good players and good people, and I certainly have no extra love for them representing England.
It goes back to growing up with Ian Wright being treated like utter shit by England (particularly Venable and Graham Taylor) as well as seeing the press treat our players like shit in general (Theo and Seaman being made scapegoats), and you see it creeping in again with how Southgate has treated Ben White.
I defintely got pretty lukewarm on my support for England during the so-called ‘golden generation’ of England players, mainly becouse none of them were Arsenal and generally I hated them all, from Cole to Terry to Gerrard to Lampard. I remember Gerrard saying how they treated Walcott when he was taken to the WC when he was 17: basically they all thought he shouldn’t be there, rather than trying to nurture a young talent and get the best from him. Walcott didn’t play and I always felt it was because of the pushback from senior players.
Well, they got what they deserved…which was nothing.
