Hello people of Lemmy,

I have a light bar for my monitor and it has a remote that (I assume) uses a 2.4 GHz radio. Do you have any recommendations for a Thread-enabled transmitter so I can control it from HASS?

What makes you think a remote uses 2.4ghz? And why would a thread enabled radio help with that?

Most remotes are either IR or 433mhz. Both have multiple options for controlling from Home Assistant.

Can you post a listing for the device you’re trying to control?

Any Matter/Thread IR blaster should work with HA. Assuming you already have a Thread radio on your HA.

Can you share photos of the underside of the remote and/or light where it lists either “FCC ID” or “Contains FCC ID”? I can’t find a listing on it anywhere to figure out what it does, and a LOT of those labels for radio frequency in Amazon images are straight up lies. There’s so much noise on those drop-shipped items.
