We have so many beautiful classical buildings, yet they choose the silluettes of hideous glass-and-concrete cubes that will be demolished without anyone shedding a tear.
The birds are nice, but I do not think anyone under sixty can name them.
All in all, I do not think the design is representing anything for a european currency.

Yeah the buildings are a weird selection. I don’t know most of them and they’re mostly just boring skyscrapers. We’ve got much prettier and well-known buildings in Europe, should have used those.
These are the buildings of the different institutions of the EU (European Parliament, European Central Bank etc.) and yes they suck

Sorry for all you bird watchers but I just don‘t enjoy your feathered friends much. They‘re pretty annoying most of the time for me if anything. Then again I don‘t understand why they change the notes at all. They are fine as they are. They should just add more watermarks and everything while keeping the designs if you ask me.

It would have been nice to see some names and a less subtle nod to their contribution to society. Without that I’m sure plenty of folks thought the same as you since it’s the default for other major currency
