We don’t necessarily went for white women players to be on the team. They are there because of the quality they bring as a player. Many of them are from different nations and brings diversity to the team. If anyone thinks not having a black person in the team brings lack of diversity to the team is the real racist. It’s important to remember that this isn’t about us as a club. It’s easy to forget when this picture keeps doing the rounds, but it’s about the English scene as a whole. There is a general under representation, and most of the serious talk (ignoring trolls and idiots) about this addresses academy pathways and how the sport is currently very middle class - mainly because the middle class can afford to drive their children 100 miles each way to the academy that hones their talent.
