The US administration hopes that Iran will agree to allow UN inspectors’ access to its nuclear facilities. In exchange, Washington is prepared to give Tehran access to part of its previously frozen assets, Axios reported.
According to the portal’s sources, the US would like Iran to invite UN inspectors to its nuclear sites, which were bombed by the United States and Israel, as part of the outcome of the first round of talks. In return, the US is willing to give Iran access to some of its frozen funds, starting with the $6 bln account in Qatar, the report said. According to Axios, Iran could use these funds to purchase essential goods.
Technical consultations between the United States and Iran are expected to take place in Buergenstock, Switzerland, on June 21. Representatives of Pakistan and Qatar will also participate.
US Vice President JD Vance previously said that issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and a ceasefire in Lebanon would be among the main topics at the upcoming talks.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), has published exclusive footage aired for the first time from the heart of the battles in the city of Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip. This is part of their visual series titled “Moons of the Flood,” which documents the journey of field commanders who were martyred during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle.
According to the Palestinian Shehab News Agency on Saturday, the new release focused on documenting the biography of the martyred field commander Imran Nahed Abu Ouda, one of the most prominent commanders of the “Martyr Nidal Nasser Battalion” (Beit Hanoun) of the Northern Brigade.
Abu Ouda is considered one of the commanders who left a clear field mark in managing combat operations in the city, before he was martyred on September 8, 2025, in Beit Hanoun.
The footage published by “Moons of the Flood” showed behind-the-scenes of resistance operations inside Beit Hanoun’s tunnels, starting from planning and preparation stages to the execution of well-laid ambushes.
The footage included documentation of the martyred Abu Ouda’s sniper skills, showing him in a double sniping operation targeting a group of enemy soldiers positioned behind dirt berms inside the buffer zone east of the city.
The clip also showcased other sniping operations carried out by the martyr, which resulted in the injury of a number of soldiers.
The release revealed a high level of field coordination between commanders and fighters, with the footage showing the martyr Ahmed Suwailam alongside Abu Ouda. This fighter is on the enemy’s wanted list for his role in attacks that led to the death and injury of 14 soldiers during ground battles.
The camera documented the fighters moving with high proficiency among the rubble of destroyed buildings, using a network of secret tunnels that the enemy army failed to discover throughout the war, to carry out precise and swift strikes against invading forces, despite intensive sweeping operations that covered most of the city.
These scenes are of particular importance given the strategic location of Beit Hanoun city, north of the Gaza Strip, as it serves as a key junction and an advanced front line adjacent to the 1948 armistice line, close to the “Sderot” settlement and the “Erez” crossing.
Despite the widespread destruction left by the Israeli war, and the city’s transformation into what is described as a “yellow zone” under military control, the documented footage confirms the resistance’s continued ability to take initiative and engage in close-range clashes.
This release is part of the Al-Qassam Brigades’ efforts to document the details of ground battles and convey the experience of field commanders who managed battles that lasted for months in the hottest and most militarily challenging areas of the Strip.

❗️Gaza Media Office reports over 3,300 Israeli violations in less than one year

The Gaza Government Media Office said Israel has committed 3,338 violations of the ceasefire agreement in the 251 days since it took effect, resulting in the deaths of 1,012 people and injuries to 3,208 others.
The office said only 54,023 aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip out of the 150,600 that were expected to arrive by this point, representing a compliance rate of just 36%. It also stated that only 7,417 travelers have been allowed to leave Gaza through the Rafah border crossing, compared with the 20,600 who were expected to be permitted to travel under the agreement, also reflecting a 36% compliance rate.
The Media Office condemned Israel’s systematic targeting of civilians in Gaza and held Israel fully responsible for the continued deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the territory. It called on the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to ensure the implementation of all its provisions and to bring an end the ongoing violations.
⭕️ Gaza’s Health Ministry announced on Saturday that 2 Palestinians were killed and 8 wounded over the past 24 hours. The ministry noted that a number of victims remain trapped under rubble or on the roads, beyond the reach of ambulance and civil defense crews.
Since the ceasefire on 11 October 2025, Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed 1,007 Palestinians, wounded 3,165 others, and 784 rescue cases have been recorded, according to the ministry.

— Small correction: Last night, only one of these two was killed, Staff Sgt. Nir Ben, from the Maglan Unit.
The other soldier, Sgt. Yoav Klein, is one of four soldiers killed in the incident of two nights ago, in which the 52nd Batallion commander was also killed. His identity was released today.
—❗️🇮🇱/🇱🇧/🇮🇷 CONFIRMED: The charred remains of IDF Lieutenant Colonel Ben Simhon, Commander of the 52nd Armored Batallion of the 401th Brigade, as well as his three crew members, have not yet been retrieved
The bodies, blown to pieces, are still inside the destroyed Merkava tank somewhere near Ali Taher hill.
Hezbollah is not allowing the IDF to reach the tank, and Israel is worried about the possibility of the dead bodies being taken hostage.

The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has announced the arrest of 17 agents of the US-Israeli enemy, who were involved in acts of sabotage and terror during the foreign-backed riots that swept across Iran in January.
The ministry announced in a statement on Saturday that the mercenaries included three leaders, who were identified and captured by its forces in the western Iranian province of Ilam.
The statement identified the three detainees leading the January riots as Murad A, Mahdi K, and Reza F, emphasizing they were identified and arrested following surveillance operations and public reports.
The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence further noted that those nabbed are violent thugs from the cities of Ilam, Malekshahi, and Sarabelah, who also played a role each during the January foreign-backed riots to undermine national security.
They destroyed and set fire to public properties and places, fired shots, and took pictures as well as video footage during their acts of terror, as they attempted to create insecurity and terrorize people.
The ministry stated that three TNT cartridges, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a grenade, and a large number of cold weapons, including machetes, were discovered and confiscated from the captured leaders.
The statement highlighted that the rest of the detainees were apparently looking for favorable opportunities to carry out the US-Israeli enemy’s plots during the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The intelligence ministry noted that most of the arrested mercenaries, while providing information to foreign intelligence services and anti-Iran monarchist groups, were active in carrying out terrorist attacks during the January riots, and played a substantial role in attacking police stations and law enforcement forces in various parts of Ilam province.
In January, a wave of peaceful protests broke out among merchants in Tehran and other cities in Iran due to economic struggles worsened by years of Western sanctions.
The authorities recognized the legitimacy of the protesters’ demands, yet the demonstrations were hijacked by rioters supported by leaders from the American and Israeli regimes, who incited vandalism and chaos.
Officials stated that several of these mercenaries were armed, trained, and recruited by spy agencies from the US and Israel to provoke violence, destroy public property, and target civilians and security personnel.
Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs reported in a statement that 3,117 individuals had died during the riots.
The report clarified that among those killed, 2,427 were innocent civilians and members of security forces.
According to the statement, many of the victims were bystanders and protesters who lost their lives due to gunfire from organized terrorist groups.

The association of water desalination stations in the Gaza Strip has warned of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe as several desalination plants have shut down due to severe fuel shortages.
In a statement addressed to official authorities and international organizations on Saturday, the association affirmed that some desalination stations had already shut down over the past two days after running completely out of fuel, threatening the supply of drinking water for hundreds of thousands of citizens.
The association said that a UNICEF representative informed owners of the desalination stations last Thursday that the agency was unable to secure the diesel fuel needed to operate their water facilities.
The association emphasized that the shutdown of desalination stations, even for limited periods, directly impacts water security in the Strip, given that a vast majority of the population depends on the facilities for daily drinking water.
The association called for urgent international action to provide Gaza’s desalination stations with their fuel needs and ensure their regular operation, warning that the water crisis could worsen and reach unprecedented levels.

Pay attention to these points:
Parliament has been kept closed for more than three months and has had no public session. Everyone knows the reason was one thing: to prevent MPs from entering the negotiation process and to avoid disrupting the path the gentlemen wanted. The excuse given for this closure was, falsely, the safety of the MPs’ lives. More than a month ago, in a letter from the Speaker of Parliament, permission was requested from the Leader of the Revolution for parliamentary sessions to become virtual — meaning the public chamber would remain closed. But the Leader did not respond to this letter! On 7 Khordad, Imam Khamenei sent a message to Parliament, in which he emphasized the need for MPs to take inspiration from the “commissioned nation” and to work and strive more. In today’s message, it became clear that, contrary to the majority opinion of the SNSC, he had a different view regarding the negotiations and Iran’s proposed memorandum of understanding. But because of the commitments made by the president and SNSC members, he accepted that the negotiations take place and the memorandum be signed.
Now that you reached an understanding, signed it, and made peace — while the Leader had a different view — should Parliament still remain closed and suspended?! A Parliament in which a significant number of its MPs, like their Leader, have a critical view of this agreement, and whose religious duty is to supervise the implementation of the commitments the head of government gave to the Leader.
Mr. Ghalibaf! From this point onward, keeping Parliament closed gives off a bad smell. The smell of coup.

Is the reformist government popular and strong enough to even carry out such an action for long? Hasn’t the opinion of the majority of the population of Iran become pro-war/vengeance since this war began? And can’t the IRGC do sowmthing about the reformist faction (read somewhere that the martyr Ayatullah Ali Khamenai had written a will or parliament had passed a Bill that said that, upon assassination of Ayatullah Ali Khamenai, IRGC will be given control of the government)
The reformists have lost a massive amounts of popularity among the people, but are still backed by members if the Iranian bourgeoisie. The IRGC’s first priority is to maintain security in the country. Staging a coup would be illegal and potentially destabilizing, especially during a period of war time in their eyes.
Whatever may have been the will of Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iran has a clear due process in regards to the death of the supreme leader which is described in the constitution. Right now, the parliament has been closed and the country is being run by the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) which is what Sayyed Ali Khamenei left as a will essentially. The SNSC is made up of majority principalists as well as the Pezeshkian and others.
The reason they went through with the MoU, even under the skepticism of Sayyed Mojtaba was because of the insistence of Pezeshkian, who threatened to resign.
The SNSC and supreme leader want to display and image of National unity on all fronts while the war continues.
Though frankly I’m not sure why they do not seize the opportunity to remove all the reformists.

{And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths sacred to them; so that they might cease} — Qur’an 9:12
‘In view of America’s blatant breach of promise and breach of contract regarding the failure to implement Paragraph 1 of the Memorandum of Understanding to end the war.
And in response to the continuous violations of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon and the merciless killing and displacement of hundreds of thousands of the oppressed people of this land, and failure of the Israeli occupation forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon:
We announce that the Strait of Hormuz is closed to all vessels.
It is noted that this first step is a response to the enemy’s breach of promise, and if the aggression continues, further steps will be planned and taken to force the enemy to fulfill its obligations.’

—❗️🇮🇷 🇮🇷 NEW: In a separate statement, the IRGC Navy contirms the Strait of Hormuz is completely closed and warns vessels not to approach
@Middle_East_Spectator
So the reformists are doing their thing (capitulating in negotiations), while the IRGC does theirs (actually responding to repeated flagrant violations of the ceasefire and MoU). It’s unfortunate it came to that, but I guess Iran’s bourgeoisie is still deluded into thinking the west will help it expand its capital.
Do the reformists even have support now from the population given these actions?
Doubt it. It’s why they insist on doing things in secret and underhandedly.
[2026-06-21] @iribnews_irib@twitter.com: 🚨 Important message from Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei:
“I held a different view on the agreement, but given the Iranian President’s personal commitment and explicit acceptance of responsibility for it, I have authorized the deal.”
Not sure if people saw this, & I don’t want to read too much into phrasing, but here Mr. Ayatollah distances himself from it, is he saying it’s their last chance if this fails? I’d say Team Burger coming in pushing this nonsense with only spending reconstruction funds on what Washington approves is a failure in and of itself. Bomb Tel Aviv. Still, not liking people rushing to conclusions, I hope it’s your first time getting led on by Middle East Spectator guys
