The point is though the Raya signing only makes sense if Raya is a clear upgrade. I’ll admit I’ve been too quick to judge and he needs more time but so far he is definitely not an upgrade.
The keepers are used differently enough to which you can’t simply compare stats or use eye test to decide who is better for the team. Aaron would struggle doing some of the things Raya is asked to do, and it’s ok, even though I initially didn’t understand it either
I’m not a goalkeeping coach by any means, but I don’t think I’ve seen Raya do anything that Ramsdale couldn’t do
Havertz is a forward (I agree), and he has also exceeded our expectations defensively in midfield.
Almost as if Arteta has a clear plan on how to maximize him on and off ball down the line….
