We do this with crawfish in a lot of parts of the world, and that works a lot better since they’ll also eat the decomposing plant matter that falls off the rice to keep the water cleaner and plants healthier.

You could do all 3 since the crawfish would eat the fish waste too

Fishes can most certainly be plural for fish, especially when referring to different types.

Fishes IS the plural if there are multiple species of fish.

Fishes IS NOT the plural if there multiple fish of the same species.

Rice grains is not the plural of rice grain.

I fly over a fish farm as part of my job (Barramundi). It looks very industrial with artificial waterfalls between big square ponds. No way you could sneak rice fields through that.

I also fly over a crocodile farm. Maybe thats better for rice haha.

This seems like it would be inefficient at both types of harvesting. Also the amount of pesticides and extra nutrients sprayed onto crops would cause algae blooms in the water and kill everything else.

Unless this is specifically designed as a low yield eco thing, in which case we’d need many multiples of land used to achieve the same output.

There’s a reason the world population has exploded in the last few decades, without 10x the number of farms.
