Despite international outcry and a recent £800,000 ($1.09 million) fine from UK regulators for failed age verification, the site remains operational, functioning as a community where members monetize content through a “pay-per-view” system that rewards high engagement. With a history that will require, finally, full accounting.
With a foreign policy that will require, finally, genuine consequence.
With a population that will need to discover, perhaps for the first time in their national experience, what it feels like to be answered back.
That disorientation is coming.
The only question is whether it becomes a reckoning or a rage.
The whole world is watching to see which one they choose.
