I’ve been working on this wiki and interactive map of translated German-language folk tales since last June, and while there are always more tales to add, the wiki is functionally complete.
Please take a look, and tell me if there’s anything that could be improved!
Fascinating to look up the town I grew up in and discovering a bunch of tales I’ve never heard of. And I think there are some missing, but most of them are along the lines of: “See the marks in that stone? The devil did that!”
And always remember: the most dangerous cryptids in Germany are the Doppelgänger, the Wiedergänger, and the Blindgänger! ; )
Woav! That’s super cool and a great idea. How about the various levels of subcategories (spirit, demon, demonic possession, etc.) get their own maps? Less an improvement and more of a feature.
I have already started a few such thematic maps, although there is still a lot of work to do.
