Do you have such a vehicle? Installed Vivaldi yet?

@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net I don’t see the point of having a computer in my car unless it’s a computer I bring into the car. Now to be fair, I no longer own a car, but I put a mini-computer onto my bike everytime I ride it.

This is the most First World Country thing I have ever seen in my life. A web browser in a car??? 😂
@TyrionTargaryen@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net
You will see browsers in most all cars in a few years.
@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net I wish you’d fix video playback, especially on YouTube. Works fine with Chrome.
@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net Not really appropriate in my case as I would need to park when using it. Way faster just using my mobile then. Same goes for a front seat passenger. In addition I use carplay which overlays the android menu system.

I do hope you do not browse on your phone while driving… Not a good idea.
Sometimes we spend time in the car while it is stationary. Having a browser on the big screen is pretty nice then, IMHO.
@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net Maybe if it android was more standalone, which depends on what kind of internet connectivity is included by the manufacturer. In my case the android in Renault E-Tech requires me to use mobile internet sharing. 4G data is available but its restricted to remote car control etc.

Nope. Still expecting touch screens in cars to be outlawed like phones used to be.@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net
That’s only the browser. Changing radio stations, adjusting the temperature, picking an alternative route when traffic is slow are all things that require taking your mind and eyes off the road with a touch screen, a lot more than with physical controls.Also, the first thing I do when stopped is get out of the car. I hate those cramped things.

My Volvo EX30 has Vivaldi 😎@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net no disrespect for your work, but I hope I will never be forced to own one of these new cars that are connected to the Internet :ignutius:
@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net Is Mazda on the list?
@NeadReport@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net
Not at this time.
@jon@vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net Laughing at all the people who are appalled by the thought of having a browser in a car, but drive while talking or texting or navigating via their phone.
These people know who they are. They already have a browser where ever they go.
It’s in their pocket or clamped on their dashboard’s phone holder.
Don’t assume that an added browser propagates and increases safety issues. Distracted driver issues have been around for years (alcohol predating technology and still a present danger.) It’s the decision of the driver to push buttons, text, have conversations and look away from the road - not the browser.
I see their arguments only as a #doublestandard
