My previous pile of wood has reached its maximum height I think:

On @redlemace@lemmy.world’s advice, I stacked the new pile in a criss-cross pattern. It certainly is more compact and more stable, but also finding adequately-sized logs to make the pile grow straight is a somewhat OCD exercise that I don’t care that much for.

Also, my pile doesn’t look as nice as in other people’s photos 🙂 But hey, it’s functional.

    Agreed, that’s how it was meant. However, brother in law stacks like that too. Pretty neat and stable and more work too ;)

    Also if there are some pieces that are shorter/longer or have branches or anything unusual i stackt them all in to one end.

    That’s a bit odd to me. I want the end to be as stable as possible, therefore logs as uniform as i can pick them.

      They all are on the one side so i get rid of them first and after that the stack is as solid as it can be.

      Edit; Also you should clean some ice from under the airconditioner.
