That statement by Jewish Gooners support group is awful
I don’t even know what the statement was, but - in general - i’d love it if sports people, artists and anyone, would not give any political statements AT ALL, while they’re still active.
Ain’t no way, the statement does not divide audences more, and can only worsen the situation among supporters.
While “political” artists’s (RATM, SOAD) statements or stances are kinda understood, they know the risks, or if celebrities are active in solving their people’s situation (Kim K), OK.
Please, just do your thing, and do not add fuel to the fire, please. It’s bad enough already.
What statement
It’s lacking self-awareness. If you go back to their statement and change Jew to Arab and Israeli to Palestinian, it’s still a 100% accurate statement. That’s exactly why very very few football clubs have gotten involved.
