Reminds me of a video I watched where someone was talking about fawning as a learned behavior from growing up with a narcissist. And then they differentiated fawning from “fluffing”, where you are temporarily fluffing up a narcissist to get a desired result out of them, like in a professional work context, so you can just get through the project and then get away from them when you’re able to. This feels like textbook fluffing.
