A puppet regime in a resource rich region that doesn’t have another super power to counter the US is valuable to US Imperialist ambitions, especially if the ME intensifies.

Yeah, but at the end of the day, China continues to be consistent in its approach. They’ve made it clear that they won’t interfere in other countries’ matters for ideological reasons. They’re going to let capitalism’s contradictions do it’s thing and focus on its own development.
It’s not my favourite approach but interfering in other countries’ domestic issues never works out. It just alienates a chunk of population that becomes rife for anti-communist radicalization.

African countries are going through civil upheaval, with strong anti-imperialist leaninings. Oceania is struggling with slowing economic growth and lack of proximity to other markets.
So they’re turning on LatAm because it’s been historically repressed and not allowed to build up it’s forces to counter American aggression.
