Yea that is exactly the behaviour I find undesirable. But I was raised around large dogs that could take your dinner from you. As such they were raised to have zero connection between humans eating and them eating.
I have a 110lbs Sheppard mutt that just sits there waiting to gently eat from a fork or a spoon. No barking or active begging. He enjoys the last bite and I ignore him while I’m eating.
