A PC that exclusively runs the OG Battlefield 1942 and Desert Combat mod. A flight simulator, like the really nice ones. Two seater Initial D arcade. A hammock. Mini fridge just for Sunny D and the purple stuff. A pair of Bose 501’s. NBA Jam, Super Street Fighter, and Tempest arcade cabinets with an epoxy starfield floor where I can work on my bikes inside… and everything would glow under black lights. Last but not least, a super nice couch where I will neglect everything above and just dick around on my Steam Deck.

It would have a Windows 2000 monitor with a Dell PC on a desk. A Nintendo DS next to it with a box full of games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Cooking Mama, and Nintendo Dogs. A flip phone, an ipod, and a CD player would be on the desk, too. Teck Decks and Legos would be scattered across the floor.

VCR on the TV stand with box full of CDs–store bought, rented from Netflix (back when they used mail out movies in CDs), and self- burned/pirated CDs. (Good) Disney and DreamWorks movies would definitely be in there (back when animation didn’t suck) like Shrek, Monsters Inc., Monsters vs. Aliens, and Kung Fu Panda. Spider-man 1, 2, and 3 (Tobey’s version of Spider-man), SpongeBob (seasons 1-3), and Harry Potter were my childhood.

Food/drinks: McDonald’s fries, Otterpops, go-gurt yogurt, Rice Krispies cereal, Pops cereal, soda were my snacks. I realized how unhealthy these are as an adult and kid me did not care about health.

Decor: Lava lamps, pillow pets, and a lot of “as seen in TV” products like the fushigi ball, chia pet, shamwow, and the slap chop would be place around the room.

Fashion: colorful hair extensions, those dresses that are short in the front but long in the back, chunky jewelry, mustache print t shirts, Bobby Jack monkey t shirts Trends in fashion: Silly Bandz, Loom Bands, duct tape wallets, snap back hats.

music that would be playing: Dynamite by Taio Cruz, like a G6, Katy Perry, Adele, sad Bruno Mars songs, Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO, Gangnam style by PSY, Lady Gaga, Beyonce-- basically every 2010s club, party songs with a lot of autotune.

Remember when McDonalds was colorful and had a play place and a GameCube: all that and a lot more.

I’d personally have…

My Master System plugged into my grandparents’ old wood-effect TV. Along with my Amiga and PS1, and a 90s Mac with The Settlers II.

The Sophtware Slump on CD and my cassette I made with the first two Garbage albums, one on each side.

Ghostbusters and The Goonies recorded onto VHS off TV, both with all their 90s ad breaks. On a TV that otherwise broadcast early Simpsons, X Files and Ren & Stimpy.

A Scalextric set and tons of Lego.

And all of the crisps (potato chips).

A fridge full of Snapple elements, jolt cola in the battery shaped tall cans, a computer running EverQuest 2 release edition. A Commodore 64 with all my old sneakernet disks, a pinball machine, arcade wizard of war, and moon patrol. TV playing all of the original TMNT series, original VHS Star Wars, a crate of ninja turtle fruit pies from hostess, a crate of fruit stripe gum, and a pool table. Think that would be perfection.

A scratchy couch, one of those crocheted blankets, a 20” CRT and an NES and it smells like stale cigarettes.

I don’t even remember if it was any good, and the handful of times I had it I’m pretty sure it was already discontinued, I remember getting it from a discount grocery store that sold a lot of stuff that was damaged or near its expiration date.

But it left a mark on my childhood.

I want it to look like a 90s video rental store. But not a big chain store, more like a mom & pop rental in some vacation town.

My wife and I have a retro gaming corner. Nes/SNES/Genesis/PS1/PS2/PC with retro/etc…etc…
We also have an HDMI that allows the old TV to get conected, so Steam and other “modern” consoles work on it too. It makes games like Coromon so much better.

It would be an early 2000s era bedroom with a Game Boy Advance and Pokémon Emerald. Also all kinds of snacks from that time

I’d go back to my old Hurricane Katrina flood salvage computer setup, specifically the evolved upgraded version by about 2008. I literally had 18 different cables plugged into it, with multiple devices connected throughout the entire trailer we lived in.

• 2 monitors
• A printer and a scanner
• Stereo speakers
• TV tuner with 2 televisions, a VCR, and an FM radio antenna
• Game controller
• Ethernet
• Keyboard and mouse, of course
• External card reader

And probably a couple other things I forgot.

Internally…

• 5 hard drives

• 3 disc burners

• Floppy drive

• 2.53GHz Pentium 4 CPU

• 1 whopping gigabyte of RAM, 333MHz I think

And you better bet your ass I had lots of music, movies, games and emulators too, even had multiplayer sessions across different rooms.

Man, lots of weed was smoked back then…
