Art in general is about showing your personality and how you see the world. AI only follows instructions and tries to do everything so perfectly that it becomes life-less.

Pretty sure art is about maximizing shareholder value by delivering a minimally viable product

AI art with only prompts is no different in terms of creative output from just commissioning art from an artist.

Edit: you dumbasses, I’m calling the prompters completely uncreative and fully dependent on others to look good

The output of a prompt isn’t creative, it’s algorithmic and lifeless. How can you compare it to an actual work of art commissioned from an artist ?

Oh wait… did you mean the act of commissioning art ? then sure… but what’s the point of stating that ? did you write this for the gotcha ?

Yes, the act of commissioning. That’s the whole point. Prompters don’t do anything interesting.

You need to read what I wrote again because you flew by my point with light-years of distance

Bud there’s no way I’m getting into a slapfight with someone that either:

            • Doesn’t understand that the creative output in your scenario comes from the artist not the commissioner.
            • Does understand that, but managed to articulate their point that badly.

I don’t have much self respect, but I’m not spending what little I do have on something this goofy.

(Edit: And who apparently is that bad at articulating their point, but characterizes the people falling victim to your lack of capacity for eloquence “dumbasses”…)

That’s the damn point, my comment is directed at uncreative prompters who think the dice roll machine gifts them creativity, and you misread me badly. Was the context not enough?

They could have called the competition something like “aries” instead of anything self-explanatory and photogeapher didn’t know it was AI.

I nearly joined a gemini vibe-coding event because of this “modern title” trend.

Reminds me of that post I can’t find right now about how a company made an AI comic “art” competition or whatever and the person who won actually drew it themselves
