      What’s next? Monitoring middle schoolers and confiscating zelda drawings? These renditions are fan made, not for profit, and only borrow likeness. Robot Chicken has less desirable situations for use and actually makes money from it.

        @ppb1701 @thegamerwebsite @steam In fairness, Nintendo has been consistent with this kind of thing. It takes them a while before they raise the DRM flag, but they always get to it in the end. That said, @BeAware’s point is correct. There needs to be a mechanism to protect legacy content because this is happening a lot these days, for various reasons. Maybe there’s a way to open up old, rusting IPs before tech advances bury them?
