Or are you open to hearing all kinds of opinions?

Any actual conservatives here? I would honestly welcome respectful disagreements and discussions with people that have very different opinions and views to mine.

Whether or not I’m considered an “actual conservative” is a question of identifying the true Scotsman, but I’m trying to help grow this community if you’re interested in discussion

Not what you might call a conservative, but I welcome opinions that differ from my own. Sometimes it helps us better understand others, or better understand ourselves.

Welcome! I hope this community serves you well, without chaos and trolling.

They don’t believe in social conservative ideas though and their other believe don’t really classify as conservative

Except that there’s no other home for libertarian ideas. Sure libertarians may not be FOR conservative causes, but “rugged individualism”, small government aspirations, and social apathy are incompatible with progressive platforms.

Since this is about conservative vs progressive for the community and not democrat vs republican, and it’s de facto 2 party, I think there’s only one logical place to put libertarians: apathetic lean right isn’t a category to pick.

@zerocool since I forgot about you lol

A Libertarian society might lead to some more conservative ideas but I don’t think it’s completely incompatible with progressive ideas, a libertarian doesn’t have an issue with gay marriage etc so I think there’s a clear distinction there

There is indeed a little nuance, but it seems to me that if the question is “do libertarians qualify as conservative” that the answer leans toward yes if the only answers are yes/no.

I will never understand the facination for Biden’s son. Why is it relevant. Why should I care if Xi Jinping’s daughter has an onlyfan or that Merkel’s kid are good at Fortine… Focus on what matters; the candidate’s ideas.

Republicans couldn’t find any real dirt on Biden, so they focused on that. It makes even less sense (or is more obviously hypocritical and absurd) in light of Ivanka and Kushner working in the White House, making tons of money and doing deals with who knows what countries etc while their father/FIL was president.
